Climate Refugees: "The multi-award winning Sundance film has screened around the world illuminating the human face of climatic change to global citizens". This movie is an incredible look at the impact of climate change to humans NOW, not just predictive like most climate change videos.

Merchants of Doubt - Home - 0 views

  •
This is a great movie talking about the industry growth and manipulation tactics behind climate change denial, including the Homeland Institute (the one that sent the booklet around to teachers last year). Can be streamed from Amazon, as well as purchased. Really great for bias and encouraging critical evaluation (and against the subverting of environmental science as a topic).

Richard Dawkins: Hawaii as a Nursery of Evolution - Nebraska Vignettes #6 - YouTube - 0 views

This study could work as a follow-up to immigration / emigration island biodiversity / biogeography topics. I would look up the original work through the Nebraska state museums. Dawkins has a lot of good short videos, but be careful to watch them ahead of time for his rather common aggressive social statements that might cause parent issues.

An amazing look at social behavior on a global scale and the culture of capitalism / contest. Could be a great connection to the goldfish tragedy of the commons activity

Name the System! Anthropocenes & the Capitalocene Alternative - Jason W. Moore - 0 views

  •
Dr. Jason Moore's work is a really amazing look at the concept of the Anthropocene and the connection between ecological damages and capitalism/globalization throughout history. A really nice way to frame the big picture for a lot of the topics in APES. His main website is down (jasonwmoore.com), but this article should give an idea of the point being made.

How Wolves Change Rivers | video | @GrrlScientist | Science | The Guardian - 1 views

At this point, this is a classic example of trophic cascades. Sort of the "peppered moth" of the subject. This is a nice video about it. (I now see that the video has been shared already, but this also has an article (which includes the correction of deer/elk)

Overpopulation - The Human Explosion Explained - YouTube - 1 views

  •
This is one of a huge and diverse series of short, animated and slightly sarcastic science videos by the Kurzgesagt group. They are active and post a new one about once a week. The nuclear power series of videos is also excellent.
