It's not surprising that Texas, California, and Florida have the most immigrants. California and Texas bring in people emigrating from Mexico. Florida attracts emigrants from Cuba because it is close to Cuba. The fastest growing immigrant populations come on the southeast portion of the US, in states like Georgia and North Carolina. Nebraska has a fast growing population of immigrants, which is surprising because it is in the center of the US, which traditionally doesn't bring in many immigrants.
It is very surprising that Nebraska has a fast growing population of immigrants because it is situated in the center of the country. I wonder where the majority of these immigrants are migrating from??
I wonder why Georgia has a large number of immigrants because, although it is located on the coast, there are many more states with large cities and more jobs on the northern end of the coast and immigrants from the Caribbean would first arrive in Florida, which has many cities and jobs and is also closer to where they came from.
