Microsoft advertising has recently announced on its blog that very shortly its advertisers will be able to verify if their ads are running. Thanks to the updated ad preview tool which lets advertisers see if their ads are being shown generally or to targeted audiences. Microsoft advertising also said that this tool will also have special diagnostic feedback and targeting functions.

What do you do when you realize that most of the self reported data you have been using for a targeted advertisement campaign is suspect? Well, you just remove the targeting capacity of such data. This is what Microsoft did when they realized that the data they had as regards to gender and age was inaccurate.
