The Temple of Vespasian and Titus (Latin - templum divi Vespasiani)[1] is located in Rome at the western end of the Roman Forum between the Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Saturn.

Titus Flavius Vespasianus, commonly known as Vespasian (November 17 9AD – June 23 79AD), was a Roman Emperor who reigned from 69 AD until his death in 79 AD. Vespasian was the founder of the short-lived Flavian dynasty, which ruled the Roman Empire between 69 AD and 96 AD He was succeeded by his sons Titus (79–81) and Domitian (81–96).

Messalina was the daughter of Domitia Lepida and Marcus Valerius Messalla Barbatus[2][3]. Messalina's father was the son of Marcus Valerius Messala Barbatus Appianus [4], a Claudius Pulcher by birth (son of Appius Claudius Pulcher, cos. 38 BC) adopted by Marcus Valerius Messala, cos. suff. 32 BC[5][6]. His mother was Claudia Marcella Minor. Her mother, Domitia Lepida, was the youngest child of consul Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus and Antonia Major.

Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (15 December AD 37–9 June AD 68),[1] born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, also called Nero Claudius Caesar Drusus Germanicus, was the fifth and last Roman emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. Nero was adopted by his great uncle Claudius to become heir to the throne. As Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, he succeeded to the throne on 13 October 54, following Claudius's death.

Pompey was a rival of Marcus Licinius Crassus, and at first an ally to Gaius Julius Caesar. He joined them in an unstable political alliance known as the First Triumvirate, which dominated military and political developments in the Late Roman republic.
