This article is about a sociocultural approach towards the study of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in education. Dr. Lim (2002) rejects the view that IST can be studied in isolation, in contrary it must be studied within a broader context (such as the theoretical framework based on the activity theory).
Very interesting article about:
- "ICT as meditational tool, incorporated within learning environments with authentic goals and purposes for students […]" (Lim, 2002, p. 412)
-The activity system
-Cole's garden metaphor (p. 416-417). Situating the activity system in an even broader context.
