Pavilion's are used to hide from the rain, along with other uses. In an area where rain is a feature of the lifestyle, like say Vancouver BC Canada or Seattle Washington USA not to exclude others, a pavilion with a rube goldberg like set of contraptions on its roof that processes rain into a number of other sounds (mechanically) would be fun. Think japanese shishi odeshi deer chaser fountains with different sized drums and hitting different sound generators, a surface snare drum to convert individual rain drops into percussion a giant bucket when it fills tips to strike a gong, you name it.

music player hooked up to your jacket or your shoes and with a microphone that processes your motion, ambient noise (jackhammers, fire engines etc) and weaves them into a baseline ambient track

A foot bridge where pedestrian and bike traffic, conversation, dogs barking are all picked up by microphones or the active pad on the deck of the bridge - power for the bridge is provided passively through footsteps, solar, wind - bridge has a processor that turns all of this into sounds, think human powered wind chimes so to speak
