Online and blended learning transform education from a location and time-bound activity to an anytime, anywhere experience. Online and blended learning challenge boundaries between the academy and the world, the virtual and the real. They connect learners around the globe with each other, with instructors and experts world-wide, and with an enormous range of resources to support learning that is both highly individualized and highly collaborative. It is not surprising, then, that recent studies have found that students learn more and are more engaged in online and blended learning environments.
