Rachel Morris on 01 Jun 15The Abbott Government will acquire hundreds of millions of dollars through raising visa and citizenship application fees as well as taxes on a number of immigrants working in Australia. As expected, foreigners on a working holiday visa in Australia will not receive the tax-free allowance up to $18,200 any longer. Starting 1 July 2016, the backpackers will instead be slapped with 32.5 per cent tax on their first dollars earned.
