Our hike to Odessa Lake began from the Bear Lake Trailhead in Glacier Gorge, one of most beautiful areas in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Along with the picturesque snow-capped mountains, vast meadow and colourful shikaras, Lakes in Kashmir are also noted for their heavenly beauty. So, be it Dal Lake or Manasbal Lake, each has its own history, often intertwined with the mythological rituals.

The trail to Bluebird Lake begins out of the fairly remote Wild Basin area in the southeastern corner of Rocky Mountain National Park. You'll see several waterfalls, wildflowers, as well as the awesome devastation left behind by the 1978 Ouzel Fire before reaching the incredibly beautiful alpine lake situated at more than 11,000 feet.

At the top of pass you'll have your first views of Gilpin Lake. The view of the deep blue, alpine lake is stunning and dramatic - one of the best in the Rockies.

Sky Pond, at an elevation 10,905 feet, sits at the bottom of an amphitheatre of sheer cliff walls that box in the lake on three sides. This an incredibly beautiful setting. One person we met said that the Cathedral Spires that ring the western shore of the lake reminded them of Switzerland.
