The Gillard Government will relax tourist visa rules for parents of Australian citizens and permanent residents so that they can visit their family in Australia for longer, according to the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Chris Bowen MP.

This visa allows students to come to Australia and study their respective enrolled courses. Once this visa is granted, students can stay in Australia until the completion of their respective enrolled courses.

The Australian government has expanded its work and holiday visa program by adding Israel to the list of countries that sign a reciprocal arrangement to provide young people with the chance to experience culture of each other's country.

The Government has recently announced plans to restore Australia's international education sector to its former status as one of the country's most important economic contributors.
