I think it's good that he was finally found guilty. I'm glad that some justice was served in this case unlike many many others that deserve it.

I think it's good that finally after a year Chauvin was finally found guilty, finally some justice.

Do you guys think he should face more charges?

As the article says, since the pandemic started they have been getting a lot of hate because of the virus. Asians have a lot of fear to go outside and live their "normal" life before the pandemic. There have also been a lot of racist comments towards them such as "you brought the virus over here". Racism still happening is terrible and sad.

No matter what people are going to be upset. Protests and riots will take place all over the country. There are so many different opinions and there will be so many clashes of opinions. I'll be interested to keep an eye on the news and what's going on, especially in bigger cities where the Protests got kind of wild.

I think that no matter what happens people will be upset and will want to protest and riot. There will be no decision that can please everyone therefore there won't be an end to this any time soon.

This protest is so dangerous for so many reasons, protesting should be peaceful and there shouldn't need to be guns there especially when people feel threatened. Everybody has a right to their opinion, but they should voice it in a respectful and peaceful manner otherwise it makes them look uneducated and violent.
Why young people who protested for George Floyd question the power of voting | AllSides - 2 views
-
Many could be questioning if they should vote or not because they're not sure if they'll receive justice if they vote or not. Plus, they don't want these issues to keep happening.
-
I listened to a podcast that also mentioned many "black" voters will not be voting until they can receive something tangible like they were promised in the past. If this is true the Democrats or Joe Biden will not win the election.

DA: No charges against Aurora police officer who shot, killed homeowner who had just killed intruder - Denver7 TheDenverChannel.com - 25 views

I believe that there shouldn't be any charges against the officer for the simple fact that he told him to drop the gun multiple times loudly and clearly and was given a good amount of time to do so but then he showed his full body shining the flashlight at the officer probably triggering a fight or flight response in the officer making him pull the trigger

The fact that he had hearing loss was not told to the cops beforehand. The cop was In the right to shout him because he was holding a gun and would not put it down. The officer thought that his life might have been endangered. Although steps could have been taken before shooting a shot at the man, there was also multiple cops at the scene and you can't predict what each cop would have done. none the less they shouldn't be arrested for the mistake of the man. He had more then enof time to put down the gun or see who it was at the door.
-
I feel like they didn't do anything wrong it sucks that he died but they had to make sure that their life wasn't in danger or the family's lives weren't in danger and he didn't put down the gun so they didn't know if that was the intruder or someone lived there
Trump has many motivations -- but power rules them all - CNNPolitics - 5 views

"Critics are protesting that his move reveals political shallowness, subverts the justice system and sends a message to aides under duress from special counsel Robert Mueller. But Trump seems to be saying,"I have this power, so why not use it?""

When you have as much power as the president does, you must be very mindful. Pardons should be a rare thing and a thing that happens when an injustice has been prosecuted to a fair person who feels wrong about their actions. Trump is throwing around pardons like rolls at the dinner table. When you do that, it makes it seem like everyone, no matter the crime, deserves another chance, especially if they are on Trump's side. When you let power get to your head the way Trump is, instead of a democracy, it starts to feel more like a dictatorship.

Dinesh served his time on community service by teaching people English that are seeking citizenship. Trumps presidency has been covered more widely than previous presidents but Obama granted 212 pardons and 1715 commutations so he's not going mad with power. he's doing his job. It's a good thing we're being critical and covering everything. But I don't think he's acting widely or crazy. America isn't a democracy by the way.

What are your thoughts on the gun control debate. It will be 1 month tomorrow that Parkland FL school shooter killed 17 and seriously wounded 17 others. Has the outrage become "yesterdays news"? How do the POLITICS of this issue make solutions difficult to reach?

Marissa: I agree with the idea that there may be students who could get their hands on the firearm, and it is a point I hadn't thought of before.
