Interesting article. Makes you think what the USA will be like in the future. Are we stuck with 50 states forever or will we change at some point? I think I am in favor of more but smaller states...
What is making Californians so mad that they want to spit it into 2 or even 6? I guess our nation is always creating history... When would this happen if it did? Would it still be in Trump's presidency?
I don't think I really understand what good splitting would do. What if you're still stuck in a "red/blue" section of a newly formed state? You would need more mayors to govern and state representatives; it would all just take too long.
I do think that American's are strangely attached to the idea of 50 states when this number hasn't even been associated with the US for 60 years, and I do understand the want for secession with such diverse communities but I'm not 100% convinced that it's the best solution. Yes it may take away the interal conflict so that progress that it's citizens will actually see the changes they want in a more efficient way without the great conflict of parties, but I think it will just continue to move the conflict of parties from the state level to the federal level. There will still be the same arguments brought up to the federal level.
