Senate votes to overturn Obama-era hunting limits of Alaskan wildlife - 0 views

  •
A bill is headed to President Donald Trump's desk that would overturn Obama-era hunting restrictions protecting grizzly bears, wolves and other animals on national wildlife refuges in Alaska from hunting tactics such as aerial shooting, baiting and killing animals at their dens or with their cubs. I feel as though this should concern more people, as these are their homes that are being intruded upon. It's cowardly to kill something when it is vulnerable. And because these animals are already in danger of becoming endangered it's appalling how many members of our government voted for this bill.
  •
Hunting restrictions are created for a reason. Hunting restrictions protect animals of native origin and keep them safe from the possibility of becoming endangered. The fact that so many people are disregarding of this truth is depressing. Alaska is known as the last frontier. It's known for its wildlife and its separation from society.
  •
As long as the hunter is licensed and has bought a hunting permit then they should be allowed to fill their tag. People have been using those tactics for years to get meat so what does it matter?

Mitt Romney 'dyed his face brown' to appeal to Latino voters - 1 views

  •
This was incredibly amusing to me. I would really like to doubt this was his intention (perhaps a terrible spray-tan mishap?), as you would have to think very low of your voters to do so purposely. However, he has also received a lot of flak for seemingly pandering to everyone for votes -- this certainly fits that image.

if he did this on purpose i think that is absolutely ridiculous.
  •
That is crazy. I can't believe that he would do that.. let alone anyone doing that.l
  •
Pretty sure 47% of the Latino population is on government aid, so, he's just doing what he can to try and have any chance of winning the up coming election. After his comments, I am pretty sure he is going to struggle to gain anymore aide.
  •
even if he did "dye his face brown" i dont see how he think's that would get him more votes. probably was like ember stated that it was terrible spray tan or too much sun.
  •
I really don't think Mitt Romney would do this because he is desperate for votes, I think the election is running a very close race. Again, he is only human, it could have been a bad spray tan or too much sun on his face or maybe someone who who was getting him "camera ready" put the wrong shade of make up on his face. It could be a number of possibilities, and for people to assume that he "dyed his face brown" to get more votes is ridiculous.
  •
The tactics politicians do to get any sort of votes, how desperate.

Why Wal-Mart workers are striking on Black Friday - 0 views

  •
"Jeff Landry, an employee in Sapulpa, Okla., plans to join the protest. He works from 4 to 9 p.m. after attending school all day. When he was scheduled for a shift during class, Landry complained. He says his managers responded by cutting his hours from 40 to below 30 a week. This meant that Landry was no longer eligible for health care, since Wal-Mart requires workers to work an average of 30 hours per week to get benefits. "They tried all these tactics to get rid of me," he said."

Wow this is crazy! I would quit!
  •
    Yeah it sounds crazy!
  •
protesting is a legal rght given to any united states citizen as long as they do it legally
  •
I agree partially with what the workers are striking for because Walmart is a crazy place every single day, especially around the holiday season. However, I do not think they need to demand better pay or more stable hours. Their average pay is 5 whole dollars above federal minimum wage, and there are plenty of people out there who work a different job with a lot more hours at irregular times for minimum wage and no benefits. Why should Walmart be any different? I feel as if they are striking for something they will not get.
  •
protesting is legal only if its non-violent so I think the had a right to go on strike.

    Civil Disobedience!

Trump accuses Ted Cruz of voter fraud: 'these politicians are really dishonest' - video - 3 views

  •
Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump speaks at a rally in Arkansas on Wednesday night, and accuses his closest rival Ted Cruz of using voter fraud and dishonest tactics to win Monday's caucuses in Iowa after the Texas senator unexpectedly beat Trump by 3%
  •
He blames Ted Cruz of voter fraud because he saw this thing that might have been government related that said he told people Ben Carson was out of the race and not to vote for him anymore even though he was still in the race and Donald says that wasn't fair to Carson let alone everyone else because people would of voted differently if they knew Ben Carson was still in the race

New York troopers given big SUVs to peer in on texting drivers - 1 views

  •
Even for a state trooper, it's not easy to spot drivers who are texting. Their smartphones are down on their laps, not at their ears. And they're probably not moving their lips.
  • ...8 more comments...
  •
I think that the SUV's will be good for catching drivers texting. If the word gets around there will probably be less accidents and less desire to text while driving.
  •
I think this is more of a scare tactic. People seeing those big SUVs will stop texting knowing that they are looking for texters.
  •
i think that suvs will be a good thing to stop drivers that are texting
  •
I think the drivers will still text, because there can't be cops everywhere watching for it. Especially if there are more serious problems going on.
  •
    The SUV could be helpful
  •
Good idea, but I think they should have used a different method than just buying SUVs for all New York Troopers
  •
I think drivers are still going to text while driving because they don't care. You can't have cop everywhere because one, there isn't enough and second because there is more important thing then set at every street.
  •
I don't think it matters because texting is a second offense. Which means that a trooper cannot pull you over just because you are texting. You have to commit a first offense and get pulled over to be charged for the second offense.
  •
I agree with little Miss McKenzie on this one!(: Teenagers will be teenagers..until something happens to them or to someone they know..they won't change.
  •
It depends on which state you are in, if its a second offense or not. In some states such as New York its a first offense.

Glad that Obama won't stick it to us......................... - 0 views

  •
The new prohibitions are part of an executive order President Barack Obama issued for federal agencies to review the types of equipment they provide to local and state police. Obama traveled Monday to Camden, N.J., to highlight crime reduction and community policing tactics that the administration hopes can be a model around the country.

South Carolina Officer Is Charged With Murder of Walter Scott - 6 views

  •
I just don't understand why deadly force such as a gun was used against man who was unarmed, not verified as dangerous and stopped for a traffic violation. I know police are trained with other tactics to stop an unarmed person from fleeing. Fears for his life? I didn't know someone running from you was so scary.
  •
I agree that this officer should be charged with murder. Its shocking because police officers never get punished for things they do are are unjustified. Weather the man took his taser or not, it didn't have to go to extent of being shot and being killed. But from the reading, it says that the taser fell to the ground and to police officer still fires at him 8 times. I completely agree with what happened, it's not usual that police get in trouble for some of the things they do.

How an ask about Russians went from WV to Trump's team - CNNPolitics - 2 views

  •
This is a bad thing because he was trying to help Russians gain access to us and find tactics that would hurt us if attacked. Although being told it wasn't a way of getting in it was a good thing to take this seriously because we don't know.

Biden calls to restore Voting Rights Act, signs order to expand access - 29 views

  •
"President Joe Biden on Sunday signed an executive order aimed at helping to ensure all Americans have the right to vote by increasing access to voter registration services and information."

This is important to ensure the right to vote is extended towards everyone, and it gets more people out there to vote. These are important thing when we pick a new leader to represent the country as a whole.
  •
Most people don't think that voting is important but it is and it is good that the president signed an executive order to see if more people will vote
  •
In my opinion, this new executive order is amazing. According to the article, "Every eligible voter should be able to vote and have that vote counted. If you have the best ideas, you have nothing to hide. Let the people vote."(konish) I totally agree with it because it's time for new beneficial changes and reformations.
  •
One of the peoples greatest defenses against corruption in our government is our ability to vote.
  •
Extension of the right to vote to everyone who possibly can is the most important thing in maintaining democracy so this is a very good thing
  •
It's good that Biden has put in place this new executive order. It's important that everyone who is eligible to vote should have the opportunity too.
  •
i agree that if we did not have our right to vote then we would lose our best defense against corruption.
  •
I think giving more people the ability to vote is great. Hopefully this attempt to bring the voter count up works and more people can voice their opinion on who they think is the best fit for our country.
  •
I think this is good because, everyone should have a right to vote, if we were not able to that would not give us a choice to anything.
  •
Biden says that if we allow everyone to vote, it will repair and also strengthen the democracy party. I think it is a pretty good idea, it would mean everyone will have more benefitions.
  •
This is a good thing because I think that having more people experiencing the "American" life will have good input on who to vote for.
  •
This is a good thing for Biden because congress will restore the voting rights for Americans, and I think by doing that he will have more people experiencing life, and maybe the people will have good input on him so they will vote for him for the next presidential election again.
  •
I think this executive order is amazing for our country. All people should have the right to vote, and this executive order is making it easier for them.
  •
this is good because they can't pull any more tricks or try to get people not to vote anymore, which equals fair elections in the future.
  •
it's important and good that biden signed this act because it makes sure everyone votes and the voting count raises.
  •
I think that Biden signing this bill helps ensure that Americans can exercise their right to vote and that it will help the voting count to increase.
  •
It's really important that Biden signed this act because it makes sure everyone votes and the voting count raises.
  •
I think it's good that Biden signed this bill because it will give more people the opportunity to vote.
  •
I think this will be beneficial considering all the sneaky tactics that they've been using to get people not to vote, so this will help make voting fairer and give more opportunities to people.
  •
I do believe that it does so happen to be a good thing that Mr. President Joe Biden has signed this act so that more people will have the chance to vote.
  •
I think this is a good idea, we need more people voting if they can.
  •
I like how voting is continuing to be a bigger issue people are bringing up because people living in America should get a say in who controls the government, regardless of who they are.
  •
I think this was a really good move and America should be grateful he's doing something beneficial.
  •
I think it is good Biden is doing something to make voting better for everyone, especially for us since were going to be able to vote next election
