Ryan promises to keep government open - and makes no promises on health care - 1 views
-
"House leaders told GOP lawmakers Saturday that they plan to devote their energy in the coming week to keeping the federal government open, conspicuously avoiding an immediate commitment to take up health care despite pledges to do so by conservatives and the White House."
-
"The demand for border funding, as well as a push for a vote on health care, has become a surprise to Democrats, who have been working for more than a month to create a spending bill that would keep the government open through the end of the year on September 30."

Last week, the zoning board in Bayonne, New Jersey-just across New York Harbor from Sunset Park, Brooklyn-voted to deny a variance to Muslim residents who wanted to convert a warehouse into a mosque. The hearing had been moved to Bayonne High School, to accommodate a large crowd, and wound up lasting six hours.

Iowa bans mask mandates in schools, cities after Reynolds signs law - 6 views

I believe that it is good that the mask law has been lifted a little because Texas and Florida did it first and they have not had any negative results in doing so. What are your thoughts?

I'm glad the mask mandate was lifted and a lot of people weren't really wearing them, to begin with, and a lot of people are getting vaccinated so I think a good step forward and getting closer to normal.
-
don't really like this idea. It was lifted way too learnly. Most of the people who decided to take off their masks aren't even fully vaccinated. it will be sad when most of them die.

I agree with waiting to add a new person into the spot, there's a lot at risk here when finding a fit person for RBG, the person who Trump nominated goes against all things RBG was for, so I think it would've been best to wait.

I think we should hold President Trump to the same regulations that Obama was held to when he was in this same position.

I don't know, Trump honestly should stay quiet and let the legal hearings proceed. I feel like there was corruption in this election with all the evidence of dead voters and people from other states voting where they're not registered, but I might be biased because I'm a republican. I don't really trust any major news source that "fact checks" because they're kinda biased, leaning towards democrats. So I try and trust local news, places that aren't really corrupt or biased.
