Mikaela Bowen on 22 Oct 13Here at our school, bullying is a big issue when basing it off of what I see on a typical day. There are students and teachers who do their best to prevent it as much as possible, but then there are some who allow it to happen without ever making any sort of attempt to stop it. I do not think that charges should be made against anyone for this case, however. To me it's like throwing a rock at nothing and expecting it to hit something. How would pressing charges do anything? How do you know that doing so would affect the people who had bullied the kid in the first place? Unless there's evidence of who committed the actions, why, and how, then I don't think that suing anyone would be justified. But, I do believe that making and enforcing more rules to target bullying would help decrease it, as well as make people more conscious of how their words and actions affect people.
