Second, the law prohibits protests at military funerals in the two hours immediately prior to and following a military funeral -- a measure, the President said, that will ensure that our servicemembers get laid to rest with "the utmost honor and respect."
"US President Barack Obama has postponed a congressional vote on military action in Syria, vowing to pursue diplomacy to remove the regime's chemical weapons."
gun control won't help anyone honestly. i don't see why he's trying to ban guns so hard. criminals are just gonna stop shooting people because of gun control? A+ thinking.
After reading the article, I don't think these two rules were meant to stop a lot of gun crimes. On the issue of gun violence, I would say that we still need tight regulations of guns. I am less concerned with new gun control laws, and more interested to know how our society can keep guns out of the hands of dangerous criminals and the mentally ill.
i think the government is becoming to corrupt and that with the shut down they are showing weakness and that it could be a start of a possible war between the countries
By Linda Sieg and Elaine Lies TOKYO (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama has said Washington welcomes China's rise but that engagement with Beijing would not come at the expense of its Asian allies - as Chinese state media greeted his arrival in the region with a broadside accusing the United States of wanting to "cage" the emerging superpower.
New York (CNN) -- He's the war-ending President who, as of Tuesday, has ordered airstrikes in seven different countries (that we know of). President Barack Obama has always acknowledged there are times when military force is necessary. Even when he accepted his Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, he said there could be instances when war is "morally justified."
The same liberal Democratic senators who stuck with the White House through six years of politically excruciating votes are set to break away in droves to oppose Obama's free trade efforts. Their goal is to block a bill that greases the wheels for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, an enormous 12-country trade deal that Obama wants -- badly -- to add to his legacy.
Leaders in Congress reached a tentative deal last week on a measure that would give Obama the authority to fast-track trade deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership through Congress without amendments, but that hasn't stopped Congressional Democrats from voicing their skepticism. "On all of the major issues in the negotiations, the negotiating objectives are obsolete or woefully inadequate," Rep.
The new prohibitions are part of an executive order President Barack Obama issued for federal agencies to review the types of equipment they provide to local and state police. Obama traveled Monday to Camden, N.J., to highlight crime reduction and community policing tactics that the administration hopes can be a model around the country.
Obama is still trying to regulate gun control. Getting pass congress is hard. He is shocked that after the Sandy Hook's shooting congress does not agree with him.
(CNN) -- When Barack Obama was a newbie president, there was no shortage of ambition or lack of confidence in the government he was about to lead. Government should be seen as a force for good, not evil. Sure, he told us, it needed to be "smarter and better," but that could-and would-happen under his watch.
WASHINGTON -- For the second consecutive year, the Obama administration more often than ever censored government files or outright denied access to them under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, according to a new analysis of federal data by The Associated Press.
President Obama planned to meet on Tuesday in Washington with the mayor of Flint, Mich., about the health crisis that has erupted from the city's contaminated drinking water, White House officials said. The meeting was scheduled for the afternoon, hours before Gov.
The White House said Obama and Bloomberg "discussed ways to keep guns out of the hands of those who should not have access to them and what more could be done at the state and local level to help address gun violence in America." As leader of the nation's largest
Obama and Cuban leader Raul Castro will shake hands at the Palace of the Revolution in Old Havana, the third time the pair have met for bilateral talks since the resumption of diplomatic relations in 2014. It was unclear whether the leaders would take questions from the press.
A bill is headed to President Donald Trump's desk that would overturn Obama-era hunting restrictions protecting grizzly bears, wolves and other animals on national wildlife refuges in Alaska from hunting tactics such as aerial shooting, baiting and killing animals at their dens or with their cubs.
I feel as though this should concern more people, as these are their homes that are being intruded upon. It's cowardly to kill something when it is vulnerable. And because these animals are already in danger of becoming endangered it's appalling how many members of our government voted for this bill.
Hunting restrictions are created for a reason. Hunting restrictions protect animals of native origin and keep them safe from the possibility of becoming endangered. The fact that so many people are disregarding of this truth is depressing. Alaska is known as the last frontier. It's known for its wildlife and its separation from society.
As long as the hunter is licensed and has bought a hunting permit then they should be allowed to fill their tag. People have been using those tactics for years to get meat so what does it matter?
I think it's great that people that are unemployed are getting help, but you can't make people too comfortable not having to work for money or they never will. There are people that work hard and could get more money from the government by doing nothing. Governmental programs for unemployment and low income families have become too relaxed. People rely too much on the government; they should support themselves.
