"I think they realize that there's going to be tremendous costs and consequences and implications if they were to decide to go for a 'breakout,'" Brennan said on "Fox News Sunday," referring to Iran amassing enough of the materials necessary to build a nuclear bomb rather than use those materials for civil energy.

But with Iranian-backed rebels now overrunning the U.S. ally tasked with beating back local al Qaeda affiliates, the nation at the tip of Arabian Peninsula makes a better case study in the approach's limitations. Yemen was the petri dish for Obama's concept of how to fight Islamic extremists with a hybrid warfare of U.S.

Until now, the agony of the four million refugees who have fled Syria's civil war has been background noise in Washington -- even amid tales of some drowning on ill-fated voyages to safety across the Mediterranean have emerged.

What's going on with prison reform in America? - CNN.com - 7 views

  •
"In a few weeks, some 6,000 inmates will be released from federal prison because of sweeping changes in U.S. sentencing guidelines for nonviolent drug offenses, approved last year. It's part of a move to overhaul the American criminal justice system, which incarcerates more citizens than any other nation in the world."

I agree with what Obama is doing. It can help the prisoners get a job easier and it will save the government money.
  •
I agree with what is going on because then they can become productive tax paying citizens, rather than being given everything in prison. If they are put into the real world they will have to shape up to some extent. If they have already done time, chances are the drugs are out of their system now, and hopefully broke the habit.

I agree with Tia it will help out the government and then we will have more people working throughout the country.

Gun control in America: How we got here - CNNPolitics.com - 1 views

  •
But on Tuesday, President Barack Obama -- frequently foiled by Congress on this issue -- decided to go it alone, unveiling a series of executive actions designed to help prevent gun violence. The President will make the case for his decision, and try to convince the public more steps are needed, during an hour-long town hall on CNN Thursday night.

Top Democrats to White House: Take Sspreme Court fight to GOP - CNNPolitics.com - 3 views

  •
In other words, some influential Senate Democrats want Obama to choose a nominee who Republicans would ordinarily support but are only opposing now because it's an election year. This, they believe, would allow them to paint the GOP as intransigent and well outside of the mainstream, undermining the Senate GOP's election-year argument that they are committed to governing in a bipartisan manner.

Trump has many motivations -- but power rules them all - CNNPolitics - 5 views

  •
"Critics are protesting that his move reveals political shallowness, subverts the justice system and sends a message to aides under duress from special counsel Robert Mueller. But Trump seems to be saying,"I have this power, so why not use it?""
  •
When you have as much power as the president does, you must be very mindful. Pardons should be a rare thing and a thing that happens when an injustice has been prosecuted to a fair person who feels wrong about their actions. Trump is throwing around pardons like rolls at the dinner table. When you do that, it makes it seem like everyone, no matter the crime, deserves another chance, especially if they are on Trump's side. When you let power get to your head the way Trump is, instead of a democracy, it starts to feel more like a dictatorship.

Dinesh served his time on community service by teaching people English that are seeking citizenship. Trumps presidency has been covered more widely than previous presidents but Obama granted 212 pardons and 1715 commutations so he's not going mad with power. he's doing his job. It's a good thing we're being critical and covering everything. But I don't think he's acting widely or crazy. America isn't a democracy by the way.

Gallup: Trump job approval drops to 37% - 3 views

The approval ratings, Trump's worst since taking office two months ago, come as FBI Director James Comey is expected to tell lawmakers that there is no evidence for the President's unverified claim that former President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the election.
  •
" Aside from the controversy over Trump's wiretapping claim, the latest poll numbers suggest growing dissatisfaction with his performance following the chaotic rollout of Republicans' plan to replace the Affordable Care Act and reaction to his travel ban that has faced stiff legal opposition." Trumps approval ratings are the worst that they've been the entire time he has been in office.
  •
I think a lot of people haven't approved of Trump ever since the beginning and he hasn't really had enough time to prove his worth so people are only continuing to disapprove of his actions.
