Yeah I am just flooding you guys with my bookmarked artist I've been sitting on a lot of stuff. They are all good. Here we have some crazy awesome sculpture.
YUKO SHIMIZU is an illustrator and a fine artist. She is also an illustration instructor at School of Visual Arts, New York.
Drawing had been Yuko's hobby ever since she was a child. However, growing up in a traditional Japanese family, pursuing a path in art was just not an option. After receiving BA in advertising and marketing - the most creative of the practical field - from Waseda University she landed on a position in PR for a big corporation in Tokyo.
It never made her quite happy, and she was in a mid-life crisis at age of 22.
Mazda has reinvented the design process. You may not like cars but you should read the article to learn about the process. This is the direction successful design is headed. This process will trickle down into every aspect of how all things are made. It may take 50 years or more but this is big like the Bauhaus or the Arts and Crafts movement. \n\n\n
Great Idea. I have a Diigo group I would like to share with everyone. I put all of my typography stuff here. You guys can just cherry pick from it, join, not join, whatever. I hope it will free up space here at Arts in General. If you join and contribute low quality or personal or off topic sites I will warn you once then kick you out. If you join and don't post that is great I don't really care.
I am really forgiving and will bend these rules but to cover any long arguments or hurting anyone's feelings I just want to lay those out at the start.
Another thing about this is if a new member joins with higher standards than mine I win because I learn from posting something and the member saying it is bad and why. But I also risk running getting kicked out of my own group : ) I can always forgive someone who is making mistakes while trying to learn something.
If you are an artist your typography probably sucks, I have been into art a long time and just got into typography in 2008. My typography still sucks but at least I am aware. I see a lot of artist make really horrible decisions in this area along with logos. These are learned skills. I am not a teacher but can share all my resources.
