YUKO SHIMIZU is an illustrator and a fine artist. She is also an illustration instructor at School of Visual Arts, New York. Drawing had been Yuko's hobby ever since she was a child. However, growing up in a traditional Japanese family, pursuing a path in art was just not an option. After receiving BA in advertising and marketing - the most creative of the practical field - from Waseda University she landed on a position in PR for a big corporation in Tokyo. It never made her quite happy, and she was in a mid-life crisis at age of 22.

Karl Meersman (born 1961) is a Belgian editorial cartoonist, living in Sint-Niklaas. He is known for his weekly caricatures in the popular magazines Trends and Knack. Since 2004, Meersman lives with former VRT journalist Lies Martens

The Aldrich is one of the few non-collecting contemporary art museums in the United States. Founded on Ridgefield's historic Main Street in 1964, the Museum enjoys the curatorial independence of an alternative space while maintaining the registrarial and art-handling standards of a national institution. They take advantage of a variety of light sources to produce photos and videos in cities by night. The Cologne artists' collective, consisting of VJ $ehvermögen (photographer and VJ since 1997 with many years of experience in the event field) and JIAR (communications designer and graffiti artist), experiments with the possibilities yielded by bulb (long-term) exposure and painting. Their aim is to explore all aspects of "lightwriting" and to develop it further. The LICHTFAKTOR crew intentionally uses the entire space in which a particular work is produced and integrates it into their photos and animated films in such a way that it's not just a backdrop but a part of the work itself.
