    Rice is most common grain that is used in every meal of the day worldwide. It is said to be a life for more than half of the humanity in the world. In the language of china, day begin with morning rice and ends with evening rice. People use different varieties of rice such as 1121 basmati rice, 1121 sella basmati rice, PR11 rice, IR64 rice, IR36 rice for the change. All the rice has become popular among people including basmati rice to non basmati rice. There are many folklore about rice in different part of the world.


    In china, Rice is like the synonym for the word food. They use rice every day in their meal. Rice is an essential part of their food. Here the typical greeting is have you had your rice today instead of how are you? And in reply one always expect the answer yes. Also there is one thing that the young girl said to must eat every grain of rice in her plate otherwise it represent the pockmark on her future husband's face.


    In Japan, cooked rice means the meal. It is believed there that soaking rice before cooking will give more peaceful soul. The little grains of rice is called little Buddha to persuade kids to eat all the rice.


    In India, the new bride offer a first food to her husband is rice. Rice is also the first food that is offered to the newborn baby when he/she start eating food. Most people have experienced a prickly shower of rice or thrown rice to the wedding couple. In ancient time, rice throwing is symbolized as the blessing of many children and today it is symbolized as the abundance and prosperity.


    In Thailand, rice is known as the essence of the life. Life without rice is simply unthinkable. If you call a family on meal, you say eat rice. Over there rice is in music and also in the various forms of art.
