This site is a great resource for teachers and students. It is easy to navigate and new concepts are always linked to review as you go along. It has been great for differentiating in the classroom.
  •
Helping you use the internet effectively. Tutorials, assessments, learning and practice assignments for k-12 covering many curriculum areas using the internet. This site has helped me in differentiating my instruction to the many ability levels in my class. Students can start at the very beginning or start with a more advanced assignment. A lot like Atomic Learning, it uses a show, tell, and try it method of instruction along with links to go back and review a concept if you forget.

  • Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus Use these techniques to locate authors: If looking on the page doesn't reveal an author's name, look on the Web site. Try truncating the url to see if there are clues about authorship or links to an author on other pages--remove the end of the address back to a significant break ( / ) or the root of the site. If the site provides links to 'about us' or 'contact us,' check there for author information. If the site provides a search engine, enter the name of the article and see if information about the author is retrieved. This may require careful reading. Search a different site. Enter information about the article in search engines like Google and see if any information about the author is retrieved. This may require careful reading. The Newspaper Clipping Image Generator - Create your own fun newspaper - 0 views

  •
This would be a fun resource for students for something like writing an article or book summary. They can write a very succinct "newspaper" article, save the resulting image, and then students can read summaries written by classmates.

YouTube - 0 views

I chose YouTube as a business education web 2.0 tool because many businesses use YouTube to launch alternate marketing campaigns. A recent example is Old Spice. The "Old Spice Guy" responded to messages that were submitted via Twitter. The result was both personal and entertaining.

I highlighted some of the ones that I looked into that seemed worthwhile for the kids. I haven't had time to look into all of them yet!
  •
Tons of links to technology resources.
  •
WOW, there are so many links on this page. This resource would be helpful for anyone who is interested in using technology in their classroom. I was most interested in the fact that some of the sites were already ear-marked for use with smart boards. Some of the sites were practice sites for kids to use at home. I will be adding those to my parent wiki once school starts.
  •
I am also very happy to see all the activities involving smart boards. Our district is purchasing them for many of our classrooms and I will share this resource with staff next month!

Poetry creation tool that allows anyone to fill in the blanks and produce a poem in a variety of different forms. This reminds me of the MadLib format that kids love and I would use it with elementary students as we study different forms of poetry.

Web Quest Maker - 1 views

  • A Web Quest is a method used to engage students in inquiry based learning. A web quest is meant to guide students through a process of inquiry through a set of assigned tasks that lead them to a conclusion, or that results in a product.
  •
Web quest generator allows teachers to create their own webquest tailored a specific lesson. I often use pre-made quests, but see a value in making my own to complement a lesson and emphasize components of that lesson that I feel my students need most.
