Bloggins is the web 2.0 tool that I like the most. I can think of ways that I could use it for guidance class and computer class. I think it's interesting to see how other teachers use it. If I come up with good ideas, my school may take the block off of blogging!

Educational Travel Programs for Teachers & Students - 0 views

  • ISE is a nonprofit organization that has inspired teachers and students through culture and language immersion programs for nearly 40 years. Our one-of-a-kind educational travel programs combine sightseeing with an authentic family stay. Students and teachers experience true immersion in the language and culture on our programs because ISE is where language matters.

This is the organization I use to travel overseas with my students. It has a family stay component that other organizations do not have. Great group to work with.

History of Japanese Internment Camps - 0 views

  • I interviewed my boyfriend whose grandfather John Kamada spent about three years in the Fresno internment camp. His family was farmers from Fresno during this time. His family along with many others, lost everything including all their property and most of their belongings. Only a couple of months after the attacks of Pearl Harbor his family was taken away from their homes to these camps along with thousands of innocent people. The only things they could take with them were clothes, small musicals instruments, and cameras. He came to the camps on a bus as a teenager with his parents and brother.

Powerful stuff.  Any time you can get first hand information about a historical event, it makes it more real and alive for the reader.

This is a good place for parents to look for information when searching for quality child care. You can access a child care options calculator which will help families examine their financial situation both with and without child care. Families can get an idea of their monthly budget and how child care will impact that budget. Find Alex the Bear on this website, who will help your child with the transition to child care. This website also explains what Child Care Resource and Referral can do for you and will help with finding a local CCR&R. This website is also a great resource for anyone interested in becoming a child care provider. I would use this website in my research for a parent or provider.

I would use this site to receive up-to-date early childhood news and information from around the nation and also for research. You can sign up to receive an e-newsletter with the latest news affecting child care and early childhood development. There is also great information for military families who need help in finding child care.
