Throughout the year I try to share resources and information with you that I think will be helpful for you. Often times these resources will include links to free eBooks that we make available on a variety of topics. Today, I thought I would post a large collection of eBooks for you here so that you can find them in one place and consume them as you see fit. Also, if you find this list helpful, please share it with your peers and colleagues so that they too can benefit from these resources.

The goal of IBM Programming Contest Central is to promote Computer Science and Information Technology opportunities to high school students. We encourage high school students, high schools and post-secondary institutions to use the resources provided in order to host their own programming contests. If you've ever built your own PC, you know it can be a rewarding and cost-saving experience. But unless you're really fluent in pin counts and socket shapes, remembering which pieces go where requires a lot of Googling. Reddit user Proteon shared a fantastic image that itemizes all the ports, connectors, sockets, cards, slots and cables you'll need to identify when piecing your baby together. The valuable resource quickly reached the front page of /r/pics, and Redditor zeug666 pointed out in the comments that the poster was created by deviantART user Sonic840. Spyware usually refers to software that is created with the sole purpose of taking partial or complete control of a person's computer without the permission of the owner of the computer. What spyware does is that it uses the resources in your computer to report certain information to someone else that you do not know. Simply put spyware spies on you and on your computer.

Deciding to become a software developer is a great initial step, congrats!  The job opportunities are growing quickly and in just about every industry that you can imagine.  The best part is that you do not necessarily have to go to a four year university to become a great software developer to lock down one of these jobs.  The web has all the resources you'll need to interact, learn, get support and finally find a job as a software developer.
