Run Android 4 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) on a Mac or PC with VirtualBox - 0 views

  •
If you want to play around with Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) but don't have an Android phone or tablet, you can download the official Android SDK, or better yet, grab a preconfigured virtual machine that will run ICS in VirtualBox.

Tutorials \ Processing.org - 0 views

I'm really starting to like what I see in Processing. I think this language will be suitable for the full range of students, from the beginners in ICS2O or ICS3x, to the robotics programmers in TEJ4M (via Arduino). Note that it can create standalone applets or applications, which is appealing to the students.

10000 things all ICS students should do before graduating | Tagide - 2 views

  •
So I thought I'd compile a list of 1010 10000 things I believe all ICS students should have done (by  themselves) by the time they get their diplomas. With luck, students have come across some of these in courses. Most likely, that won't happen, so students need to make time for extra-curricular activities.

AppInventor:Course Curriculum - Notes - 0 views

  •
The two teachers, Betsy and Chinma, have been working together to create a course curriculum that will be implemented in their high school classrooms. Our goal is to expose high students (i.e. CS zero students) to Computer Science using App Inventor. The App Inventor curriculum should excite the students and therefore encourage them to continue studying Computer Science. We hope that this curriculum will become the catalyst that spurs students to attend college and major in Computer Science.

With Ruby, and the gosu gem you can do it. It is fairly easy to get going. And if you follow our screencasts, you can have a game going in minutes! Also, take a look at our recent Show and Tell to get some ideas of the games that can be built by beginners. Have fun!

Coding Guidelines - 1 views

  •
There was some discussion at the CEMC conference about coding guidelines. I found this excellent article about the topic of Reading Code and best practices. I plan to use this in my senior (ICS4U) course early to set the standards and probably a simplified version after a few months in ICS3U.
