The Oral History in the Digital Age website connects interested persons and organizations to a range of resources related to crafting a meaningful and dynamic oral history project. Crafted by people at Michigan State University with funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the site contains critical essays, How-To guides, and an elaborate wiki. The Getting Started area is a good place to begin, as it features helpful playlists about oral history projects. The Essays tab leads to another highly informative section of the site. The short pieces in this section are divided into three topics: Collecting, Curating, and Disseminating. The individual essays include "Enhancing Discovery: Connecting Users to Y our Oral History Collections Online" and "Oral History and Social Networks: From Promotion to Relationship Building." Finally, the Ask Doug option features expert responses to key questions on oral history projects from noted oral historian Doug Boyd

This website is the result of a research project for History 327: Women's History to 1870 at the University of Mary Washington. The subject is Kate Dunlap, a woman who made the westward overland journey in 1864. 

 The History of Architecture, a free course that recently debuted on iTunes. Taught by Jacqueline Gargus at Ohio State, the course features 39 video lectures that collectively offer a classic survey of Western architecture. The Century America compilation of websites are a part of the COPLAC digital history project, a collaboration of several colleges in which student researchers have explored their local community's experiences during the Great War. Spearheaded by Dr. Bill Spellman, and under the direct leadership of Dr. Ellen Holmes Pearson from the University of North Carolina Asheville and Dr. Jeffrey McClurken from the University of Mary Washington, the project combines digital technologies, distance mentoring, and undergraduate research. The UNC Asheville website explores parts of Western North Carolina, with particular emphasis on the college's home city of Asheville, during the Great War.

During World War II, the United States government crafted hundreds of different posters to promote military service, the conservation of natural resources, and so on. The Northwestern University Libraries has collected and digitized 338 of these posters for close consideration by the curious public. The majority of the items here were issued between 1941 and 1945, and they can be searched by keyword, issuing agency, description, and artist. First-time visitors may do well to look over the two excellent posters created by the celebrated artist Ben Shahn. Both of these posters capture the drama and the difficulty of this age and they are representative of his fine work. This a remarkable collection and one that will be of great use to art historians and those with a passion for American history

Posted on this site are excerpts of original manuscripts, each of which has been annotated by undergraduates who have spent a semester critically evaluating the work and assessing the authors' own perspectives. Deep research by UGs. By including their interviews with primary investigators, links to background information, and tips for understanding and critically interpreting data, these undergraduates have developed a unique pedagogical tool that should enhance their peers ability to navigate and understand the primary literature. Developing scholars will benefit from their colleagues' insights as they are invited to explore the living history of a scientific inquiry.
