InfoLit Zine Pic by UG Librarian @chrisdaaz - 0 views

Four volume zine on info lit by academic librarian. I really love this non-tech, low-budget approach to providing materials about bibliographic instruction. It's a great way to think about non-traditional formats in academic settings.

asking for it « Bethany Nowviskie - 0 views

Blog post by Bethany Nowviskie in response to OCLC's report on digital humanities and academic libraries. In it she challenges the underlying assumptions and implications of the report. She argues against a "one-size fits all" approach to starting DH centers and calls for a collaborative approach to DH. "Librarians are helping to philosophize DH, not just support it."

Picking Your Topic IS Research: NCSU Libraries - 0 views

  •
Fantastic video by NCSU libraries, just over 3 minutes long, explaining the best way to select a topic for a short research paper. I really like that this shows the common pitfall of selecting a topic, then doing research, and feeling stuck because, as it turns out, there are no scholarly resources. This explains the process to students about having an idea, doing some exploratory research, tweaking your topic, etc. Really nice production quality, too.
