Way back in the day, when I was a student, I remember drawing out my timelines with colored pencils on pieces of taped together construction paper (to make the line long enough). We've come a long way since the late '80′s, and there are a lot of web tools and apps out there that help users make much more advanced timelines than I could crank out with my awesome colored pencils. Whether you're using them to chronicle well known historical events, or your own personal history, these tools can bring together audio, video, photos, text, and more to showcase a well rounded, multimedia timeline to tell your story. Time Toast timetoast Time Toast also offers uses free, unlimited timelines and easy Facebook integration. The interface is extremely simple - just click 'add an event', and you can add text, links, or photos. While it doesn't offer some of the audio/video options that some of the other products we mention in this post do, it offers a lot more simplicity. Of note, there are a number of ads on the site - which can be expected with a free tool - but just something to keep in mind. Meograph meograph Meograph's tagline is 'Four Dimensional Storytelling'. It offers a simple interface that allows users to combine news, history, travels, life events, photos, videos, audio, etc to create a multifaceted timeline. It offers easy sharing options and a web based interface. Users can purchase usage by the class with three different options starting at $19.99. Capzles capzles Capzles is similar to Meograph in that it allows users to integrate information from a variety of different sources (video, audio, photos, text, etc) into one multifaceted timeline. RETRIEVR Another blast from pickings past, retrievr is an experimental image search tool that uses color recognition to retrieve Flickr images that reflect the spatial color arrangement of a digital sketch you draw on a canvas.

iPiccy is another great photo editing web site. It allows its users to add wonderful effects to their images. What is great about this tool is that it does not require any installation or download. Whenever you are connected you can just head over to its main page and start editing right from there. iPiccy offers a plethora of editing functions that you can use very easily . Among these editing  services are resizing, cropping, rotation, contrast fixing, and equalizing.. You can also use their cartonizing tools to turn your pictures into cartoons, a service which i like the most.     iPiccy lets you upload your own pictures from your computer or  select an image that is stored online. In case you do not have any , you can take one with your webcam or use the paint tools to draw yours. Some features of iPiccy

"Little Bird Tales lets you easily make slideshows where you can add text and, more importantly for English Language Learners, provide an audio narration. On nice touch is that you can virtually paint/draw artwork in addition to uploading images (unfortunately, the site doesn't have the ability to grab photos off the web by url addresses). It's free to use, but I'm unclear on if there will be an eventual cost to use the site. It appears to have an upper limit on the number of shows you can produce."

A superb, 'must try' collaborative whiteboard site. Invite collaborators to draw, write, screen capture and upload documents onto your whiteboard in real time. Great for webinars, distance learning, howework or group work in class.

A great animation site which makes cartoons from your virtual drawings. It has very few options and buttons which makes it easy to use by younger children. But don't think that it isn't sophisticated. It uses HTML5 and your cartoons will look great. sign up required to save your creations.

"Visualead allows you to turn any design or logo into a working, scannable QR Code. First register for an account at the site."

This is also a great tool in creating diagrams and flow charts. It provides pre-designed templates and diagram types. Just fill in your data and share with others.

Psykopaint is a website where users learn and enjoy painting using a wide variety of tools such as brushes, pencils, and many more. It is so much fun to use.

Kind of like wallwisher but shared through url and not embeddable as far as I can see. Also no moderation settings, however extremely uncomplicated for spur of the moment brainstorming session work.
