KARACHI: Sprang into action, Sindh Interior Minister, Suhail Anwar Siyal, suspended senior police officials over publication of an advertisement against Rangers personnel, and directed investigation into the announcement, Samaa reported Wednesday. Yesterday, Sindh police department got advertisements published in local newspapers seeking public assistance in tracing of at least six missing persons allegedly picked up by "unknown Rangers" from parts of Orangi Town.

KARACHI: Sindh government has announced a public holiday on first of Muharram to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Umar Farooq (R.A.), second caliph of Muslims. The decision in this regard was taken after the religious scholars demanded holiday on the martyrdom day of the second caliph.

LAHORE/PESHAWAR: Northwestern areas, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and different cities of Punjab have been experiencing heavy rain/thunderstorm since Tuesday night, as Met Office forecasts more downpour in next 24 hours, Samaa reported.
