I realy like some of what Plymouth State is doing to allow browsing by LC subject. If you click, for examle, Sociology, you are taken to a sort of socioloy portal that contains links to course guidelines, relevant databases, pre-populated searches of the OPAC, reference materials, websites, and the sociology librarian's contact info. Click on a pre-populated OPAC search and you are able to broaden/narrow the search by clicking tags as well as bookmark or choose from RSS options.

World Digital Library Home - 0 views

A digital library of primary materials from around the world spanning 8000 BC to present. Very clear intuitive navigation and interesting browsing choices like a draggable time period bar. Strong descriptions of the items...great clear zoomability with something called seajax viewer?? Pretty cool digital library that's very well done in a lot of ways.

"Kuler" Palettes - 2 views

  •
New in CS5, Adobe Kuler is present in Photoshop and Illustrator. It's a live palette item that features color palettes created by various designers from around the web (professional and non-professional). You can save favorite palettes, browse the live palette library and submit your own palettes for consideration. It's a great resource.

A List Apart: Articles: Accessible Data Visualization with Web Standards - 0 views

  • When we’re designing interfaces for browsing data-driven sites, it’s valuable to be able to create navigation elements that are also visualization tools. We can keep the user informed as they explore, so they can make better decisions about what they’re looking at and what they’re clicking on.

really nice site... click on the links in the "Browse Subjects" section to see an ajax-y popup... Also, they use a google map for their "Library Locations" page. We should do that!
