This New Year 2012 is turning out to be really a pretty good year for the people who are seeking to buy a 7-Inch Android Tablet. Samsung has launched its first Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), to ship with Android 4.0 with dual core 1GHz processor and a 7-inch screen along with 1024-by-600 pixel resolution and its own Touch wiz user interface.

iPhone 4S a new entrant in the smartphone market, is a one of its kind device. With the new A5 dual core chip and iOS 5, it now garners the power of an iPad device providing multiple challenges to any iPhone software developer.

The super-computer Tsubame 2.0 has been developed by the Tokyo Institute of Technology in collaboration with NEC and HP. It promises a 2.39 petaflops of computing capacity (30 times higher than its predecessor Tsubame 1.0) thanks to some 2,816 Intel six-core 2.96GHz Xeon 5600 (Westmere-EP) microprocessors and 4,224 NVIDIA Tesla M2050 GPUs with lower power consumption as only 1MW (1/25th of its predecessor).

The W500 is a 10.1-inch touchscreen with 1280x800 resolution that runs Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system. It features a 1GHz dual-core AMD C-50 processor and up to 2GB of DDR3 RAM.The device weighs 970g and is 15.95mm thick. This isn't too bad but it is slightly on the chunky side when compared to similar tablets. It is reasonable to carry around but at nearly 1kg we imagine it would get tiring to hold for long periods.
