Switching to electronic invoices in Latvia: what do you need to know? - 2 views

#1 fox7771 on 06 Dec 24Hello everyone! We are a small company that cooperates with several partners in Latvia. I heard that new rules for electronic invoices are coming soon. If I am not mistaken, it will be mandatory for B2G from 2025, and then for B2B. Has anyone already encountered the eAddress system? Is it convenient at all? And also: how will this affect us as a foreign company? I would like to understand whether we need to prepare in advance. Share your experience if anyone is already working with electronic invoices in Latvia!

#2 denny212 on 06 Dec 24Hello! We recently started using e invoicing Latvia to work with government agencies. I can say that the eAddress system they implemented is really convenient. It simplifies the processing and transfer of documents. We were initially afraid that it would be difficult, but everything turned out to be intuitive. From 2025, as you correctly noted, e-invoicing will become mandatory for all B2G transactions, and from 2026 - for B2B. This means that companies operating in Latvia will be required to switch to electronic invoices. We are already preparing in advance, because the sooner you start, the easier it will be to adapt to the new requirements later. If you are a foreign company, then you will most likely have to work through Peppol-compatible platforms. This is a standard for all of Europe, so it is better to set up the integration in advance.
