How do you tell the difference between burnout and laziness? - 7 views

So I've been using this app called Liven for a couple of weeks to figure out why I'm either constantly tired or just straight-up avoiding stuff. I set it up to track my mood and create small habits like journaling or taking a 5-minute walk - nothing crazy. What's wild is how I realized I'm not actually "lazy," I'm just fried. Especially after work, my brain just goes "nope" and shuts down. Thought it was just procrastination at first, but now I'm seeing patterns that point more to burnout. The app helped me spot when I start spiraling into "do nothing mode" vs just chilling. Anyone else tried it or had that moment of clarity?

Yeah man, I went through the same thing last year. I kept blaming myself for not doing "enough," thinking I was being lazy - but turns out, I was mentally drained and didn't even notice. Tracking stuff helped, and honestly, reading more about this type of behavior gave me clarity. You might wanna check out what they talk about in Liven`s blog - they break down the whole "am I avoiding this because I'm tired or just unmotivated" thing pretty well. That mindset shift was a game changer for me.

I feel like people mix up laziness with self-preservation. If your body's telling you to slow down, maybe it's not being "lazy" - maybe it's refusing to grind itself into dust. I used to push through everything like a machine and ended up snapping at the smallest stuff. Now I'm way more careful about what I call "procrastination." Half the time, I just needed real rest - not scrolling my phone, but actual disconnection. That's where the line gets blurry.
