Hello, friends! I want to buy binoculars for stargazing, but I don't know which one to choose. I'm not considering telescope - it's important to me that the device is portable and convenient for travel. I'm interested in something powerful, with good light intensity, so that I can see the moon, planets and maybe nebulae.

I looked at Celestron models, especially the SkyMaster series. I saw that they have an 80 mm objective, BAK-4 prisms and multi-layer lens coating. Sounds great, but how good are they in reality? Maybe someone has used them?

The main thing is that the image is clear, and the binoculars themselves do not wobble when in use. I plan to put it on a tripod. Does the SkyMaster have a convenient tripod mount? I would be grateful for advice!

Hello! I have Celestron SkyMaster 20x80, and it's just gorgeous. A great option if you want to observe the stars, but don't want to bother with a telescope. Bright image - the 80 mm lens collects lot of light, even faint stars are clearly visible. Clarity - thanks to four-element optics, details are transmitted very clearly. Convenience - there is a tripod mount, without it, it is difficult to hold such binoculars. BAK-4 prisms - provide high contrast, especially when observing moon and planets. If you want really high-quality astronomy binoculars , I recommend looking here. Excellent value for money! The only thing is that without a tripod it is inconvenient to hold it in your hands for a long time, after all, 20x magnification. So a tripod is a must-have!

By the way, if you plan to observe lunar craters, then 20x80 is super. I even saw Jupiter and its satellites on mine! True, the planets look like small dots, but still.
