Sen. Whitehouse countered by saying McKinley's gun would not be banned in the Democratic legislation, so he contended that case actually proves self-defense does not require "assault weapons" to be legal."

Suppose that letter also stated that the government is going to appoint a stranger to handle your affairs for you at your expense? That would certainly be scary enough but it gets worse.
