Preserving Australian Sport History - a guide for sport organisations - 0 views

  •
The story of Australian sport is held by its sport organisations - large and small. It is tied to the many artefacts and documents that together comprise Australia's sporting heritage. Australian sport heritage items can include realia (trophies, sport equipment, uniforms etc.), ephemera (advertisements, tickets, posters, programmes etc.) as well as books, journals, diaries, letters, photographs, audio recordings, film and video recordings and scrapbooks. It can also include the general organisational records that are created as part of day to day business.

World War 2 and the MFAA (Monuments Men) - 1 views

  •
I just finished listening to the book "Monuments Men" written by Ray Edsel and it promoted me to think more about war and the preservation and conservation of archives, art, buildings and other significant works that are of historical significance to a town, country, or even a continent. The jobs that the Monuments Men carried out were truly amazing. This site, 'The Archives of American Art' contains oral histories and photographs of their endeavours.
