"Europe's most visible forum for ICT research and innovation, ICT2013, will take place from 6-8 November 2013 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The ICT 2013 event will be the first opportunity to learn the details of research funding for ICT-related projects under Horizon 2020, the EU's new research program for 2014-2020. The European Commission proposed an €80 billion package for research & innovation funding, as part of the drive to create sustainable growth and new jobs in Europe. Horizon 2020 will support the development of ICT in Science (in future and emerging technologies or e-Infrastructures); in industrial leadership (such as smart systems, robotics, photonics, etc.) and in societal challenges (such as eHealth, eGovernment and eSkills)."

"A high-level conference on "Promoting Africa-EU Research Infrastructure Partnerships" will take place on 7-8 March 2013 in Brussels, Belgium. The conference will present the outcomes of the PAERIP (Promoting African European Research Infrastructures Partnerships) project, funded under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7)."

"The Hindu Business Line-. There are over 80 web sites and portals ran by Governments providing information to farmers on soil, plant protection, diseases, weather forecast, fertiliser use and farm and crop management. The number could be much more in the private sector. All this is likely to confuse the farmer. To tackle this, the Union Government has come up with the idea of a unified portal, to provide information on all farming needs. The portal www.farmer.gov.in, is not fully live yet. The basic version integrates the convergence technologies to offer latest information to farmers, instead of uploading dated information. "Compare this with the number of agri-climatic zones in the country. They are just 23. When they open the portal, the farmers see the Indian map. Depending on their location, they can select a State and the block they belong to," said Sanjeev Gupta, Joint Secretary of Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Government of India. "

"Chaque année, le Ministère des Affaires étrangères et du Développement international (MAEDI) lance plusieurs appels à projets en soutien aux projets de coopération décentralisée. Ceux-ci peuvent être soit bilatéraux, soit thématiques : - Les appels à projets bilatéraux soutiennent les projets de coopération décentralisée entre des collectivités territoriales françaises et étrangères répondant à des priorités partagées avec l'Etat partenaire, selon des modalités définies dans le cadre d'accords bilatéraux. Dans ce cadre, 5 fonds conjoints ont été mis en place, cofinancés paritairement avec les gouvernements des partenaires étrangers (Maroc, Territoires palestiniens, Mexique, Argentine, Sénégal, Québec). De plus, le MAEDI a mis en place deux fonds d'appui spéciaux afin d'encourager les projets de coopération décentralisée avec les collectivités territoriales tunisiennes et libanaises. - Les appels à projets thématiques appuient les projets de coopération décentralisée sur certaines priorités et sont cofinancés par le MAEDI (DAECT) et ses partenaires. - Alors que l'appel à projets « généraliste » triennal 2016-2018 va entrer en 2017 dans sa deuxième année, un appel à projet généraliste annuel va être ouvert afin de permettre un cofinancement des projets de coopération décentralisée qui ne sont pas « couverts » par les appels à projets bilatéraux ou thématiques, du 1er décembre 2016 au 31 mars 2017, qui s'inscrira dans les priorités internationales portées par le MAEDI (mise en œuvre des 17 Objectifs de développement durable et du nouvel agenda urbain adopté le 20 octobre 2016 notamment)."

There is a general perception that youth in agriculture, perhaps like their counterparts in other fields, often find themselves on the fringes of regional and global agricultural development discourses due a number of factors - among which are limited access to resources and platforms that can aid their active participation. To address this concern, several governments and development organisations working with youth have, in the past years, developed strategies to engage youth in agriculture, encourage their participation in agriculture development discussions, and stimulate their energies towards contributing to finding solutions to some of agriculture's problems - especially in the developing world. The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) has been one of the organisations at the forefront of this provision of support to youth in agriculture. Drawing on its Youth Strategy, which defines its engagement with young people in the field, CTA has made and continues to make significant contributions to the appeal of agriculture as a profession for youth and the development of young people engaged in the field.

"The Platform's work plan 2014 was endorsed by board members at the beginning of February following a consultation process of about three months. Its outcomes are orientated to attain the revised Platform goal to promote effective policy and investment in rural development. Activities are planned under four pillars: strategic initiative, targeted advocacy with policy and decision makers, knowledge sharing, and networking and cooperation. Several thematic streams from post-2015 to nutrition, land and livestock etc. as well as input, reporting and co-organising from relevant international events will be implemented. Furthermore, Platform evaluation will help define the Platform's future and the design of its new Strategic Plan. The 2014 work plan is designed in a way general enough to provide for the flexibility a network needs, but also detailed enough to allow for a neat work process."

"On 10 July 2013, Mr Shyamal Majumdar, Head of Office of UNESCO-UNEVOC, has attended the iMove Network India in Dresden, Germany. Organized in cooperation with the Federation of Indian Commerce and Industry and the National Skill Development Corporation the event aimed at promoting the German-India collaboration in TVET. Mr Shyamal Majumdar delivered a keynote speech, in which he outlined Technical Vocational Education and Training from the international perspective and highlighted the importance of TVET in present times. Mr Majumdar urged for TVET to be transformed first and then scaled up in order to meet global demand. Furthermore, Mr Majumdar shared the key messages of the UNESCO Global Monitoring Report on Youth and Skills, and the role of the UNEVOC Network in transforming TVET, addressing key challenges of quality, capacity and public-private partnership (PPP)."

"An Agribusiness Education Fair will be held at the World Agroforestry Centre, Nairobi, Kenya from 9th - 11th October 2013. The fair is being organized by the African Network for Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Education in conjunction with the Forum For Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA), Pan African Agribusiness Consortium (PanAAC) and the Association of African Business Schools (AABS). The objective of the fair is to improve Agribusiness teaching and research through stronger linkages of Training institutions with Business and Private sector."

"Du 20 au 22 novembre s'est tenue à La Rochelle la session annuelle des chefs d'établissement du Cneap (Conseil national de l'enseignement agricole privé), réunissant près de 180 chefs d'établissement. Cette édition fut l'occasion d'aborder pendant deux demi-journées la mission de coopération internationale de l'enseignement agricole."

"On 30 October 2013, the team of UNESCO-UNEVOC welcomed Khaled Fakha, Alsu Ismetova, Benedict Hartmann and Verena Becker from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to the UNEVOC premises. All four are undertaking an internship at the GIZ in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Bonn/Eschborn. They visited the Centre to learn more about its work in general, the cooperation with GIZ and the Centre's role as a clearinghouse for TVET."

"The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre in collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education, Centre of Excellence in TVET (NBTE), organized a Regional Forum on Advancing TVET for Youth Employability and Sustainable Development from 17 to 18 September 2013 in Abuja, Nigeria. The meeting was organized in the context of a series of forums that UNESCO-UNEVOC is organizing as a response to the Shanghai Consensus recommendations and the outcomes of the UNEVOC International Forum (November 2012). The two-day forum aimed at sharing and discussing Promising Practices in the areas of Greening TVET (GTVET) and Youth and Skills implemented by UNEVOC Centres and other institutions in the region, as well as strengthening cooperation between UNEVOC Centres in Africa and supporting the consolidation and expansion of the Network."

"The model of dual vocational education and training is currently attracting considerable attention. Demand is rising worldwide, and there has been a strong increase in the amount of media reporting. The main factors driving public attention are the high rates of youth unemployment in some European countries and fears of an impending shortage of skilled workers. On the basis of the way in which it links learning and work and schools and companies, the dual training system in Germany appears to be a successful model for the structuring of the transition from school to working life. But can it be developed into a model for the whole of Europe? Large numbers of new bilateral cooperation agreements are currently being set up to investigate how company-based and school-based learning can be better combined within the respective national context. This approach is being further developed at a European level within the scope of the "European Training Alliance". Endeavours to reduce youth unemployment include modernisation of vocational education and training systems in accordance with a model of company-related VET."

"The importance of financial literacy and specifically the need to promote financial education has been recognised as an important contributor to improved financial inclusion and individuals' financial well-being as well as a support to financial stability. The relevance of financial education policies is acknowledged at the highest global policy level: in 2012, G20 Leaders endorsed the OECD/INFE High-level Principles on National Strategies for Financial Education that specifically identify youth as one of the priority targets of government policies in this domain. That same year, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers of Finance identified financial literacy as a critical life skill."

La compensation financière de l'UE pour cet accord est d'environ 6 millions d'euros pour la période ; des opportunités de pêche seront offertes à 40 senneurs à la senne coulissante et à 54 palangriers pour la capture du thon et des espèces associées (y compris les requins). Une plus grande proportion des coûts d'accès sera payée par les armateurs : la Commission européenne informe que « les conditions définies aideront à doubler la part payée par les armateurs »."
