  I am curious about how much other airbnb hosts spend on their guests for things like basic amenities like shampoo, soap, or food.
  
  What other unique gifts do you provide? What type of things do you wish you could supply to every guest?
  
  Are they individual supplies or do you allow them to use a large bottle of shampoo?

  Very little expense wise but we do keep receipts to claim on taxes. Similar to others:
  
  Coffee w fixings Tea Tp/paper towels Dish soap & hand soap Toiletries: regular bottle of shampoo & body wash at a minimum then I keep a basket of misc items I acquire for free or have extra of like travel deodorant, Advil, sewing kit, hair ties, nail files, mints, hair spray
  
  If people leave behind a tube of toothpaste or some other toiletry item I toss it in the basket in the cabinet & let people decide what they want to use
  
  (disclaimer: one time I was in an air bnb & forgot toothpaste. The host had some in the cabinet so I used it. Normally I wouldn't use random toothpaste but I was desperate. I didn't die & figured others could be in the same situation & decide for themselves)

Don't forget bedroom essentials like pillows, blankets, nightstands, tables, and so on.
