  •
Effective 31 July 2015, any non-EEA citizen who applies for a visa to travel to the UK with durations in excess of six months is required to acquire a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). This new application process affects foreign nationals who wish to settle in the UK as well as to work or study with a longer-stay visa. Short-stay visitors do not require a BRP.
