עוד סעיף ב-ZCI :-) המחקר גילה כי בדרום רמת הגולן קיים פוטנציאל משמעותי להפקת אנרגיה גיאותרמית. הטמפרטורות הדרושות להפקת אנרגיה זו עומדות על בין 150 - 200 מעלות צלזיוס, אולם כאמור בעוד במרבית העולם נדרש קידוח של בין 6-10 קילומטרים לעומק האדמה, הרי שבדרום הרמה  מספיק קידוח של שלושה קילומטרים בלבד.   בשיחה עם ynet מגלה שלו כי סוגיית עומק הקידוח והעובדה כי באזור זה מצויים מים בתנאי לחץ - הופכת את הפקת האנרגיה באזור זה לכדאית מאוד מבחינה כלכלית. "המים באזור זה ייצאו לבד מן הקרקע, ולא יצטרכו לשאוב אותם", הוא מסביר.
