      This activity might be best in small groups. It will give an opportunity for diverse learners to succeed and express their views in a non-threatening environment.
  • Students will research and construct a pamphlet that includes: symptoms of disease, genetic causes of disease, genetic testing, population/risk, possible treatment, genetics screening techniques, cost, social and ethical implication.

  • Students will use one or all games to review basic information and Punnett Square problems. These games use soccer, basketball and the game show idea deal or no deal.

      I think this particular acitvity might be best in a small group. Diverse learners will also benefit from this activity.

    I want to add this bookmark to my page because it is a learning network created to bring teachers ideas together. It is like youtube but instead it contains videos on lesson plans, teaching strategies, and current events all relevant to teachers.

    I really like the ideas that it gives here. There are a lot of definition about "The Best Teacher" but a best teacher is not only about help students inside the classroom but also everything that they need when they are learning.

    For hundreds of years verbal messages have been the primary means of explaining ideas to learners. Although verbal learning offers a powerful tool for humans, this book explores ways of going beyond the purely verbal. An alternative to purely verbal presentations is to use multimedia presentations in which people learn from both words and pictures--a situation the author calls multimedia learning. Multimedia encyclopedias have become the latest addition to students' reference tools, and the world wide web is full of messages that combine words and pictures. This book summarizes ten years of research aimed at realizing the promise of multimedia learning.

    I bookmarked this site because I use google very often. I know it is important to use reliable search engines when looking up research or information. This link gives you an easy way to view teaching materials. As a future teacher I will have a lot of questions and require outside ideas and knowledge.
