Stocks closed mostly higher to end a week of wild market volatility and historic swings. Industrial stocks lead gainers while financials and utilities stocks close lower.

Investors have seen in recent days that this market has shown the ability to generate wild swings up and down, whipsawing many investors and traders into oblivion.

The tech-sector had a wild ride today, reversing early morning losses following the acquisition of Netlogic by Broadcom. Suspicion of further semi-conductor M&A drove the sector higher on Monday.

Any hopes of a recovery or relief rally in the market will have to wait as stocks plunged again after yesterday's push upward. Investors are once again submerged in uncertainty.
