The stock market recovered from earlier losses after a string of poor economic data threatened to curtail recent gains. The housing market may be forming a bottom, however.

US stock futures are up more than 1% this morning, erasing yesterday's entire gap down. When stocks opened down nearly 3% yesterday, many investors feared it was the beginning of a harsh downward spiral.

Stocks pushed higher for the fourth consecutive day as the market hinges hopes that the euro crisis could be easing. Economic data in the U.S., however, showed more softness.
