Jeera prices closed lower by 0.95 per-cent at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on account of a surge in the supply from the producing regions in the midst of a decline in the export demand.

Maize prices ended lower by 0.62 per cent on Tuesday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of heavy selling activity by the investors on account of higher global supplies and weak offtakes from the local buyers.

Gold futures slumped in the domestic market on Monday as investors and speculators booked fresh positions in the precious metal tracking a weak trend in the overseas market after Swiss voters rejected a plan for the country's central bank to boost bullion reserves.
