Tata Steel Ltd: Forced to go for more restructuring of its UK business due to a "challenging marketplace", Tata SteelBSE -0.55 % will sell its Long Products Europe business by the end of the current financial year.

After a strong Tuesday, the day saw a stable close today. Gaining 128 points, the Sensex ended at day's high while the Nifty added 34.35 points to close at 5818.60. Overall, the market remained in narrow trading range. Steady European markets also boosted sentiments in India. Gainers of the day were Sterlite Industries (up 4.7 percent), Hindalco (up 3.4 percent) and Tata Motors (up 2.9 percent). Star of the market was high beta stocks like realty and infra. Due to good global signals, today Indian stock market strated its trading with a good start. The Sensex come close to 26600, while the Nifty is seen around 7950. Midcap and Smallcap stocks have buying trend. However, power and metal stocks are under pressure but IT, auto and FMCG stocks seems to have buying effect. The 30-share BSE Sensex index is currently trading at 26563 with a gain of 0.5 per cent or 120 points.The NSE 50-share Nifty index gained 28 points, ie, 0.4 per cent is trading at 7933 levels.
