With the body count such as it is, these mutations don't seem to be thatsuccessful at helping the mutant survive and procreate. I don't thinkordinary humans are going to be replaced by these mutants any time soon.

The truth of the matter is, if a mutation is 'good' (that is, offerssome protection to the people who have it) then, regardless ofcomplications, that mutation will be passed on through at least someviable and non-sterile offspring.

Generally, having superpowers is a good thing (okay, okay. It's a hugeheadache especially for the first dozen generations or so ofsuperpowered mutants, but it does make one more prone to survival if allaround you other mutants are discovering that they have powers too, evenif the 'normals' are trying to kill or severely restrict the procreationof said mutants.).
