The COMPUTATIONAL MATHEMATICS MAJOR prepares the student to enter a career in industry, government, or business immediately upon graduation or to enter graduate school in computational science, or related areas of applied mathematics such as statistics, management science, operations research, actuarial science or computational biology.

MATH 304 Mathematical Modeling I: Deterministic Models (4)
Deterministic mathematical modeling emphasizing models and tools used
in the biological sciences. Topics include difference equations, qualitative
behavior solutions of ODEs and reaction-diffusion equations. A computer

Probabilistic mathematical modeling emphasizing models and tools used
in the biological sciences. Topics include stochastic and Poisson processes,
Markov models, estimation, Monte Carlo simulation and Ising models. A
