Prices of Barley closed low by 1.08 per-cent yesterday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as the investors booked profits at the higher on account of the weak physical markets and also due to the fell down in the requirement from beer and cattle-feed makers.

Today, Crude oil futures plummeted over 1 per-cent in the native market while tumbling to a 6 year low in the overseas market as investors, observers and speculators regained to a heavy sell-off in the energy commodity amidst continued fears that a global oil glut may exacerbate due to the fallout of the OPEC's decision to maintain production at high levels, and sluggish world wide growth of economy which may weaken requirement.

FOMC - Closing months of speculation, observation and for the 1st time in the decade, the US Fed Reserve's rate-setting Fed Open Market Committee (FOMC) increased its Fed Funds Rate by 25 basis pts from the 0-0.25 per-cent range to a target of 0.25-0.5 per-cent.
