Goods and Services Tax (GST) - The GST bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on 6 May 2015. The concept of GST has been looted and developed in India for more than a decade. With the GST bill being passed in the Lok Sabha, it now has to be presented in the Rajya Sabha. After being approved by Rajya Sabha, the Bill will trigger the rollout of GST in April 2016, which will change India's indirect taxation system. This article reviews some of the major benefits of GST implementation in India for startups and small businesses.

Section 25(1) of the CGST Act mentions that an individual/business entity should apply for GST registration in each State/Union Territory where he is liable to register. This process of registration under this Act is known as GST registration and can be done easily on the online GST portal.
