For her contribution to South Australian communities, Saru Rana was recently awarded the Governor's Multicultural Award 2018. The honor was presented to Ms. Rana by His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC who represents the Queen of England in South Australia.

Dance has become a way of life for nine-year-old Sagarika Venkat, daughter of Manjula Viswanath and Venkat Parthasarathy. And with her mother being a famous and accomplished dancer herself, dancing came quite naturally her.

NSW residents are being urged to ensure they are fully vaccinated for measles before they travel overseas after 36 people have been diagnosed with the disease in NSW since December last year. The majority of cases have been from travelers who have entered or re-entered Australia and unknowingly been infected with measles while overseas.

Allama Mashriqi (Sage of the East) and Subhas Chandra Bose (Netaji) were two prominent leaders of the Indian sub-continent (now comprised of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh). Both were His Majesty's intransigent opponents and fought against the British Raj in their own ways. However, credit for India's freedom is being given to Bose (and a few others), whereas Mashriqi's paramount role in the freedom movement has been either misrepresented or completely wiped out in India (and Pakistan).

Bendigo will host three face-to-face consultation meetings in Victoria this week on the development of a new National Agreement on Closing the Gap. The meetings provide an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to tell the Coalition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peaks (Coalition of Peaks) and governments what changes are needed to improve their lives.
