Amit thinks the Diigo toolbar is useful. I have yet to evaluate it, except to make the observation that it takes up precious space on my darling little laptop monitor.

So we went about hiding the toolbar. To do so (in Firefox) we clicked "View", "Toolbar", "Diigo Toolbar". Clicking "Diigo Toolbar" un-checks it and causes the toolbar to be hidden.

To reverse this action, simply repeat the process, this time causing the "Diigo Toolbar" to be checked.

Amit says that while the toolbar is hidden, we can simply use the "Diigo" dropdown menu in the same gray bar where "File", "Edit", "View", etc. appear. My only comment on doing this is that there appear to be functions in the toolbar that do not appear in the dropdown menu. Not a problem, as you can easily show the toolbar when needed.

My other concern with the toolbar is that it doesn't remember it has been hidden, when I restart Firefox. It also pops up a window with a toolbar tutorial every time. These are annoyances I don't need, and I strongly suspect I don't need the Diigo Toolbar. I am a big believer in simplicity. If I were using Diigo on a daily basis like Facebook, it might prove useful, though I would want to find a way to defeat this annoyance.
